Established by world-renowned Grandmaster Jim Fung in 1973, the International Wing Chun Academy offers powerful self-defence skills in Wing Chun Kung Fu to people of all ages.
Our unique system can be applied by anyone as Grandmaster Jim Fung’s Wing Chun Kung Fu® does not rely on physical size or strength to be effective.
Our Wing Chun lineage can be traced back to the legendary Ip Man (Yip Man) through Grandmaster Jim Fung and his master, Chu Shong Tin. Ip Man is known for being Bruce Lee’s master and bringing Wing Chun to Hong Kong in 1949.
The International Wing Chun Academy is managed by Grandmaster Jim Fung’s eldest son, Tristan Fung, and features instruction from Grandmaster Fung’s most experienced understudies, many of whom have decades of experience teaching Wing Chun Kung Fu.
Our full-time Sydney HQ offers over 40 classes per week and is open 7 days. We also have 8 suburban training locations around NSW.
We are proud to be Australia’s first carbon neutral martial arts school through our NoCO2 Certification with the Carbon Reduction Institute. We have undertaken a comprehensive carbon audit of our operations and have committed to offsetting our carbon emissions through the China Wind Project.

The China Wind Project provides a renewable, clean energy source for power generation. Wind projects partially displace electricity currently generated from gridconnected conventional fossil fuel based thermal power plants, thereby reducing overall emissions. Furthermore, by reducing harmful pollutants in the atmosphere, the China Wind Project also provides public health and local environmental benefits. Such projects also provide economic benefits through increased investment and employment opportunities. |
